2. How to measure (on a flat surface)
Use a soft ribbon on a similar garment that fits you well. Do not stretch the fabric.

Tops: Shoulders (seam to seam), Bust (armpit to armpit), Waist (narrow point), Length (shoulder to hem).

Bottom: Waist (edge to edge of waistband x2), Hips (~2" below closure), Crotch (crucial waist height), Inseam (crotch to bottom).
